She sat on the grass. After much crossing out, rewriting, chewing on her pen, and pulling up a chunk of grass and throwing it down the slope, she finally came up with a short letter. She looked down at her horrible Latin, and crumpled it up and rewrote it in English. She could understand Latin when someone else was speaking it, but coming up with the right, equivalent word herself was near impossible.
Well, I'm here now. Your postcard worked. So thanks, I guess. Thanks for the postcard, thanks for claiming me.
This place is amazing. I guess Auntie had the right idea, living in California. And it's weird. I always hated being an only child, and wanted siblings, and now I have 2 brothers, right in my cohort. Mom is going to kill me when she finds me though. She probably thinks I was abducted or ran away or something.
I don't really know what I'm trying to say. Just thanks, for the impossible valley, and for me being a Roman, I guess.
